Whether they’re relaxed waves or tight rebellious curls, follow Leo Bancroft’s tips to take control and get beautifully defined curls with natural movement.

the hair "Dos"

For a low maintenance, frizz-free style for unruly curls, apply a small amount of TRESemmé Flawless Curls Conditioner and work thoroughly into the lengths of damp hair, followed by a small amount of Curl Definition Cream Gel, then twist sections around your finger to create spirals. Let your hair air dry and then rake fingers through gently for a smooth look with natural movement.
Do embrace your curls, and try not to straighten them every day! Curly hair tends to be drier naturally, so excessive straightening will cause damage over time, leaving your curls looking dull and harder to manage.
A diffuser attachment on your dryer is a great way to encourage curls and give them a soft finish. Set the heat of the dryer to medium and speed to low, flip your head upside down and place your curls in the cup of the diffuser. Allow the hair to dry while gently bringing the diffuser towards and away from your head, and scrunching hair with your fingers.

the hair "Don'ts"

Never brush your curls. Comb conditioner through your hair while in the shower, then towel dry and style it with your fingers to prevent frizz.
Don’t rub hair with a towel when drying – this roughs the cuticle, which can give the appearance frizz and prevents shine. Instead, gently squeeze excess water from the hair with a towel, and the same goes for excess product – this helps stop your curls from being weighed down.
Try not to shampoo every day - curly hair tends to be coarser, and washing too often can dehydrate it. As an alternative, between washes you can just wet hair then use conditioner on the ends.
